Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking an Actuarial Analyst III to tackle diverse actuarial projects, including risk contracts, pricing and settlements with senior management reporting for capitation initiatives.

You will mentor trainees, coordinate special projects, and contribute to PBM initiatives, leveraging Excel and SAS with opportunities to grow in R, Snowflake and AI tools in healthcare.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four SOA actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Experience in pricing, filing, settlement and experience analyses is expected.
  • Pharmacy benefits management (PBM) initiatives experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and implement risk contracts, including experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; prepare management reports for capitation initiatives.
  • Assist in training actuarial trainees and coordinate special projects.
  • Engage in PBM initiatives and pharmacy claim forecasting/analysis for Medicare.

Locations

This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Job Description

The Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies.

How you will make an Impact
  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.
  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists. Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.
  • Engage in the dynamic and rewarding field of pharmacy claim forecasting and analysis, primarily for Medicare, while collaborating on cutting-edge Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) initiatives.
  • Leverage and expand your expertise in Excel and SAS, with the opportunity to enhance your skills in R, Snowflake and AI tools, as you contribute to impactful projects that drive innovation and efficiency in healthcare solutions.
Minimum Requirements

Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies
  • Healthcare Industry experience
  • Understanding of pharmacy claims, drug utilization, unit cost trends, and key drivers of Medicare Part D financial performance.
