Job summary

Henderson Scott is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support pricing and state filing activities within a Property & Casualty insurance environment. This role involves developing and revising rates, performing trend analysis, and preparing regulatory documentation for Department of Insurance inquiries.

The position is remote with occasional travel to client sites, offering $110,000–$140,000 plus benefits, and requires strong P&C actuarial experience and CAS exam progress.

Qualifications

  • Strong actuarial experience within Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Two CAS exams completed or more.
  • Experience developing rates and performing trend analysis.
  • State filing experience with Departments of Insurance preferred.
  • Experience in personal lines is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of actuarial, mathematical, and statistical methodologies.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, data analysis or visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the actuarial rate filing process for assigned states.
  • Develop rates and conduct trend and rate-level analyses.
  • Prepare filing documentation and respond to regulatory objections.
  • Select and validate data for actuarial modelling and analysis.
  • Translate business problems into technical requirements and communicate results.
  • Apply actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques to business challenges.
  • Ensure work complies with risk and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
