Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Activity Technician/Therapist for Rutledge State Prison in Columbus, GA. The role focuses on using recreational, social, and vocational activities to support treatment objectives and stabilization for patients under correctional care.

You will work under the direction of mental health professionals, contributing to skill-building and problem solving while coordinating activities that align with therapeutic goals.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in Therapeutic Recreation or related field providing activities programming for persons who have a serious mental illness is required.
• Must have an active Basic Life Support certification.
• Training, experience or certification as an aide, medical technician, EMT, or activities technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement recreational/social/vocational activities to meet treatment objectives.
• Foster skill building and problem solving to support psychological stabilization in a correctional setting.
• Work under the direction of professional mental health staff to provide therapeutic activities.
