Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Activity Technician/Therapist at Valdosta State Prison in Valdosta, GA. The role uses recreational and therapeutic activities to support treatment objectives and patient stabilization in a correctional environment.

The candidate should have two years of Therapeutic Recreation experience and a current BLS cert. Preference given to those with related certifications and correctional health experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in Therapeutic Recreation or related field providing activities programming for persons with serious mental illness preferred.
• Active Basic Life Support certification (BLS).
• Training, experience or certification as an aide, medical technician, EMT, or activities technician preferred.
• Experience working in a correctional mental health setting preferred.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Use recreational/social/vocational activities to accomplish treatment objectives.
• Foster skill building and problem solving in support of psychological stabilization for patients in a correctional setting.
• Work under the direction of professional mental health staff.

We are currently seeking a full time Activity Technician /Therapist to join our team at the Valdosta State Prison in Valdosta, Georgia.

The Activity Technician/Therapist is under the direction of professional mental health staff, and uses recreational/social/vocational activities to accomplish treatment objectives, foster skill building and problem solving in support of psychological stabilization for patients in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

Schedule: M-F on day shift

• Two (2) years of experience in Therapeutic Recreation or related field providing activities programming for persons who have a serious mental illness preferred
