Job summary

Cedar Creek Hospital in Michigan is seeking an Activity Therapist (CTRS or other Creative Arts Therapist) to provide Recreational Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge leisure planning for adolescents and adults.

The role uses individual and group activity interventions to foster cognitive, social, emotional and physical changes, and educates patients in healthy coping skills while upholding current standards of practice; day shift with at least one weekend

Qualifications

• CTRS Certification by National Certification Board (NCTRC) required or other Master’s Level Creative Arts Therapist with board certification.
• Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Recreational Therapy services including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge leisure planning.
• Use individual and/or group activity interventions to foster cognitive, social, emotional or physical change.
• Educate patients in healthy coping skills and connect them with post-discharge leisure resources.
