Job summary

Cedar Creek Hospital in Michigan is seeking an Activity Therapist (CTRS or other Creative Arts Therapist) to provide Recreational Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge leisure planning for adolescents and adults.

The role uses individual and group activity interventions to foster cognitive, social, emotional and physical changes, and educates patients in healthy coping skills while upholding current standards of practice; day shift with at least one weekend

Qualifications

• CTRS Certification by National Certification Board (NCTRC) required or other Master’s Level Creative Arts Therapist with board certification.
• Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Recreational Therapy services including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge leisure planning.

Description

The Activity Therapist, CTRS or other Creative Arts Therapist (Dance and Movement, Art, Music, etc) is responsible for the provision of Recreational Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions and discharge leisure planning. This team utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the client's behavior, be-it cognitive, social, emotional or physical. They educates the patient in healthy coping skills, and available leisure resources to continue the client in post discharge leisure planning and involvement. They will be responsible for the provision of services according to the current standards of practice.

Hours

Hours for this role are day shift. We are looking for candidates that have at least one weekend that they could commit to a month
