Job summary

Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan is seeking a Contract Activity Therapist to assess, educate and develop recreational, social, leisure and daily living skills as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

The therapist will plan and implement unit activity services, define treatment goals and provide ongoing patient care, observation and role modeling for adolescents and adults in a behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• CTRS certification required or equivalent Master's level Creative Arts Therapist with board certification.
• Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting preferred.

Position Description

The Activity/Recreation Therapist is responsible to assess, educate and develop recreational, social, leisure and daily living skills. The Recreation Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing unit activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

• CTRS Certification by National Certification Board (NCTRC) required or other Master's Level Creative Arts Therapist (Pet, Yoga, Dance and Movement, Art, Music, Drama, etc) with appropriate board certification
