Job summary

Hearts & Hands Of Care, Inc in Alaska is seeking staff to coordinate and implement educational and enrichment activities, including Arts and Crafts, sports, and music. You will ensure participants have supplies, provide direct support, and help keep the Recreation Center clean and organized.

You will monitor participation, assist with scheduling, and support safety and security within the center. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • Requires 2 years’ experience in the field or related field.
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age and have a valid Alaska Driver License.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:

This position will support individuals and staff in all areas through program implementation, data collection and coordination of activities.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Coordinate, implement and direct educational and enrichment activities (i.e. Arts and Crafts, sports and Music). Ensure individuals have the supplies to complete activities and the supports they need to complete their activities. Help monitor the cleanliness and organization of the Recreation Center to ensure operation standards are met. Provide direct support and supervision to individuals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Support individuals in their efforts to develop new skills and live a more enriched, active life.
  • Assist in coordination and monitoring activities of Recreation Center to include program implementation and events.
  • Creating Activity Calendar, Budgeting Activities, Planning & Running Activities.
  • Networking with other Centers and the Community to grow the Recreation Center participation.
  • Assist in maintain activities and training supplies for individuals in assigned areas.
  • Provide support to people receiving services as needed in absence of staff.
  • Assist in walk-through of Recreation Center areas to ensure people have arrived and departed from these with their support staff and are active.
  • Assist as needed with other projects.
  • Participate in activities of the Recreation Department.
  • Keep a census of participation in activities
  • Monitor activities in the Recreation Center area for safety and security.
  • Ensure Recreation Center is clean, organized and supplies are readily available.
REQUIREMENTS:

Requires 2 years’ experience in the field or related field. Must be at least eighteen years of age and have a valid Alaska Driver License and pass a criminal background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to work in an office setting
  • Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends.
