Job summary

Recover-Care is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing activities for residents. You will help deliver programs to promote meaningful engagement and maintain patient functioning levels.

You will assist with group and individual activities, arts and crafts, outings, and other recreational pursuits while following safety precautions and facility guidelines. This role requires weekday hours with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with recreation coursework preferred.
• State-approved activity-training course is a plus.
• Experience leading recreational activities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity programs for patient engagement.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list for each patient.
• Encourage participation in group and individual activities (arts/crafts, outings, religious, educational).
• Perform miscellaneous assignments as required.

Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As an Activity Assistant you are responsible for supporting the efforts of the Activity Director in the assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients' opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired

• Available to work on weekdays and alternating weekends
