Job summary

Elderwood at Lancaster is seeking a compassionate Activity Leader to plan and lead engaging recreation programs that keep residents energized, connected, and mentally stimulated. This is a regular part-time role with a mix of mornings and evenings.

Qualifications include at least 18 years old, a valid New York driver's license and the ability to build warm relationships with residents, their families, and staff. You will work with the Director of Activities to deliver meaningful daily activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors.
• Ability to inspire, motivate others, and adapt activities for residents.
• Understanding residents' rights and needs.
• Physical stamina for constant activity.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at intermediate level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director Activities in planning and carrying out the activity program.
• Approach residents on assigned unit to plan individual activities; reports to Director Activities on response and cooperation of resident.
• Prepares resident information for use by the Director Activities in care planning and documentation; writes progress notes as assigned.
• Assists in developing and maintaining good contact with community resources for the betterment of the activities program.
• Responsible for maintaining departmental inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Maintains attendance records and prepares other reports as required.
