Job Summary

Grand Villa Assisted Living, a premier senior living community in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Activity Director to lead our recreational therapy program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being among our residents. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents, including social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans that promote resident engagement and satisfaction
  • Plan and execute events, such as parties, outings, and celebrations, to create a sense of community and social connection among residents
  • Recruit and train volunteers, staff, and other community members to assist with activities and events
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments as needed to ensure resident satisfaction and engagement
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of activity participation, resident feedback, and other relevant data
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 0 years of experience in a senior living or recreational therapy setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and staff
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
  • Familiarity with regulations and standards related to senior living and recreational therapy
