Make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day! We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activity Director to lead our resident activities and life enrichment programs in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting.
The Activity Director is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive activity and recreation program designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs of our residents. This position plays an important role in enhancing quality of life, resident engagement, independence, and overall well-being.

Develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive resident activities and life enrichment program based on individual resident interests, preferences, abilities, and needs.
Plan and lead a variety of group and individual activities, including arts and crafts, music, games, educational programs, religious activities, social events, exercise, community outings, and recreational programs.
Conduct new resident admission interviews to identify personal interests, hobbies, routines, preferences, and activity needs.
Complete the activities portion of the MDS assessment, including the Preferences for Routine and Activities section.
Complete CAA documentation and individualized activity care plans when triggered.
Participate in Resident Care Plan Meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care.
Develop individualized activity interventions based on each resident's strengths, interests, functional abilities, and identified needs.
Identify health conditions, functional limitations, or other factors that may affect a resident's participation and develop appropriate alternatives or adaptations.
Complete required activity assessments and documentation according to facility and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain a monthly activities calendar and ensure it is posted and communicated to residents, families, and staff.
Encourage and support resident participation in meaningful activities while respecting individual choices and preferences.
Coordinate community activities and special events involving residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community organizations.
Provide opportunities for residents to participate in activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, emotional wellness, spiritual fulfillment, and independence.
Maintain appropriate precautions and limitations for residents participating in activities and ensure physician approval when required.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable skilled nursing and long-term care regulations.
Collaborate with nursing, social services, dietary, therapy, and other departments to provide a well-rounded resident-centered activity program.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Certified Activity Director credential or completion of a state-approved Activity Director training course.
Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, activities, or a related field, preferred/required as applicable.
Current licensure, certification, or registration as required by applicable state or federal regulations.
At least 1 year of experience as an Activity Director in long-term care, skilled nursing, senior living, or a healthcare setting, preferred.
Two years of experience conducting social, recreational, therapeutic recreation, or resident activities programs within the past five years, including at least one year in a healthcare setting, preferred.
Knowledge of MDS assessments, CAAs, care plans, resident-centered care, and long-term care regulations.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with senior adults, families, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community partners.
Creative, energetic, compassionate, and enthusiastic approach to resident engagement.
Ability to plan and manage multiple activities, events, and documentation requirements while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment.
