The Sweet Bye N Bye in Coral Springs RC F is seeking an Activity Director to oversee daily resident activity programs, plan events, and coordinate with care staff to support residents’ well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an activities program daily including evenings and weekends.
  • Create a plan of activities that meets the residents' needs and supports their wellbeing.

  • Recruit, train and supervise volunteers when appropriate.
  • Assist with budget development and family/community engagement.

About the Organization The Sweet Bye N Bye is owned and operated by Robert and Angela Estrada RN, BSN. Their goal is to provide excellent care in an intimate setting where residents will feel like part of a family. They have a combined 45 years of RN experience and over 20 years of combined experience owning/operating adult foster homes and residential care facilities. Angela was awarded the credential Registered Nurse-Board Certified in Gerontology. The Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification accredits this American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification. At The Sweet Bye N Bye, your loved one will be treated with dignity and respect allowing them to retain their individuality and independence while receiving all the care they require at a fraction of the price of the larger facilities. As owners of Sweet Bye N Bye, Robert and Angela are also dedicated to volunteer work. Robert and Angela also do their part locally by donating to several worthy causes including The Alzheimer's Association, The Boys and Girls Club, ASPCA. Description JOB SUMMARY This is a brief synopsis of overall job duties This person provides for an ongoing program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interest and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident

Position Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education: Minimum educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience: 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program one of which was full time in a resident activities program in a health setting.

Activity Director Assigned Tasks

1. Provide an activities program on a daily basis including evenings and weekends. A. Provide a plan of activities appropriate to the needs of the residents that includes but is not limited to: Group social activities Indoor and outdoor activities which may include daily walks Spiritual programs Opportunity for resident involvement in planning and implementation of the activities program Create activities such as arts, crafts, music, drama, sensory activities ect Exercise activities One to One attention Promotion of facility/community interaction B. Assure that at least 6 hours of staff time is provided per resident per week for activity duties C. Prepare a monthly calendar of activities and post it in a prominent location that is visible to residents and visitors as well as one in each resident room. D. Coordinate the activities program with other services in the facility E. Recruit, train and supervise volunteers when appropriate F. Assess resident needs and develop resident activity goals for the written care plan G. Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes H. Review goals and progress notes I. Properly document Activity Log and progress notes

2. Obtain necessary equipment and supplies for their accessibility through organizes storage A. Participate with the Administrator in developing a budget B. Foster family and community support of the activity program ( e.g. through newsletters, networking, activities which bring family members or members of the community into the facility, ect. Example Family Night C. Contribute to facility efforts to maintain and/or improve quality care through participation in the following: 1. Attend Care Plan Meetings 2. Serve as a member of the QA/Safety Committee 3. Attend mandatory in services
