Job summary

Cura Health is seeking an energetic Activity Director to lead our activities and life enrichment program for residents in long-term and post-acute care. You will design meaningful, person-centered activities that support social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual well-being, while building relationships with residents, families, and staff.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and a passion for working with older adults.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in activities, recreation, life enrichment, healthcare, senior living, long-term care, or related field preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of activity programming for older adults and varying physical/cognitive abilities preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive activities and life enrichment program based on resident interests, abilities, needs, and preferences.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly activity calendar with individual, small-group, and large-group activities.
  • Provide programming that supports residents' social, emotional, physical, cognitive, recreational, and spiritual well-being.
  • Complete activity assessments and contribute to individualized resident care plans per facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in resident care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
  • Provide individualized activities and one-on-one visits for residents who are unable or prefer not to participate in group programming.
  • Plan and coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, outings, entertainment, community events, and other resident-centered programming.
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and provide direction to Activity Assistants and other staff.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and maintain relationships with volunteers and community partners.
  • Monitor resident engagement and adjust programming based on participation and feedback.

  • Plan and coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, outings, entertainment, community events, and other resident-centered programming.
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and provide direction to Activity Assistants and other activity department staff.
  • Delegate responsibilities and ensure activity staff complete assigned duties and programming expectations.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and maintain relationships with volunteers, community organizations, schools, churches, entertainers, and other community partners.
  • Monitor resident engagement and adjust programming based on participation, resident feedback, changing needs, and interests.
  • Coordinate resident outings and assist with transportation arrangements when applicable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working in activities, recreation, life enrichment, healthcare, senior living, long-term care, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of activity programming for older adults and individuals with varying physical and cognitive abilities preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
