Job summary

Gracy Woods II Living Center seeks an energetic Activity Director to enrich residents' lives through diverse programs and community engagement in Austin, TX. The role involves welcoming new residents, coordinating events with schools, churches, and pet therapy groups, and managing decorations and activities budgets.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, fluent in English, and able to work flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• Certification as required by State regulations for activities.
• Proficient in written and verbal English.
• Experience working with seniors; ability to work flexible days between 8:30am and 5:30pm and weekends on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly newsletter for residents and families.
• Develop and pursue a varied program of activities covering physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, vocational and cognitive elements.
• Greet move-ins and welcome families; arrange for community groups to visit the facility.
• Decorate common areas for events and holidays.
• Conduct individual and group interactions; document resident participation.
• Attend weekly Care Plan Meetings; maintain inventory of supplies and manage budget.

Gracy Woods II Living Center is seeking a highly motivated and personable Activity Director to enrich the lives of our resident's quality of life. The candidate should have the following characteristics and or experience.

Activity Director Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly newsletter for distribution to all residents and families.
• Develop and pursues a varied program of meaningful activities and events that is balanced in the physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, vocational and cognitive elements.
• Meets and greets each person upon move-in to welcome them and their family and friends to the facility.
• Arranges for community groups to come into the Facility such as pet therapy, schools, churches and entertainers.
• Decorates the common areas for special events and holidays.
• Conducts individual and group interactions.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and manages budget.
• Attends weekly Care Plan Meetings
• Documents on Resident participation

Activity Director Job Requirements:

• Certification as required by State regulations for activities.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Compassionate spirit and enthusiasm for working with the elderly.
• Experience working with seniors. Ability to work flexible days between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm and weekends on occasion.
• Proficient in written and verbal English.
• Computer experience and ability to-use or learn to use software programs.
• MDS experience preferred but not required.
