Job summary

Dyer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activity Director to elevate residents' daily living through engaging, person-centered programs. You will develop group and individual activities, coordinate with care teams, and create monthly calendars that spark participation and joy.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 1–2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within a long-term care setting, plus the ability to train staff and lead volunteer initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a social or recreational program in a long-term setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop an ongoing program for group and individual activities based on residents’ needs, interests and abilities as identified in assessments.
• Participate in care plan meetings.
• Complete required record keeping upon resident admission, discharge, transfer; chart and document per facility policy.
• Create the monthly activity calendar.
• Provide training and in-services.
• Implement and maintain established policies and procedures.
• Guide, lead and motivate participation in Resident Council; schedule monthly meetings.
• Lead, establish, supervise and maintain the volunteer program.

One of the most important part of their day is interacting with others through daily happenings with staff and other residents.
