Job summary

Ivy Park at Otay Ranch in Escondido is looking for an Activity Coordinator for Memory Care to assist in providing creative, engaging activities for residents. This position includes promoting participation through a variety of events and maintaining a safe environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, teamwork skills, and experience working with seniors. Competitive pay starts at $19.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C or preferable Class B driver license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area. Promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

• Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
