Job summary

Pahokee Health and Rehab is seeking an energetic Activity Coordinator to join our caring team. You will work with residents and the Director of Activities to plan, coordinate, and lead a wide range of social and recreational activities to involve all residents.

The role requires excellent communication, ability to lift up to 30 lbs, and comfort arranging transportation for events. CNA certification is required, and weekend/holiday rotations are expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to work with others in setting up events.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to complete small setups independently.
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays.
• Able to assist residents physically during boarding, seating, and walking.
• Must be a CNA.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead a wide range of social and recreational activities with residents.
• Plan off-campus trips and accompany residents on outings.
• Arrange transportation for events and programs as needed.
• Maintain seasonal decorations in the facility.
• Create and distribute information about events and activities.
• Assist with purchasing supplies and items for activities.
• Orient new residents and serve as a resource for residents.
• Alert Social Services to residents' concerns.
• Coordinate activities in the director's absence.

Job description

We are looking for an energetic Activity Coordinator to join our growing team! The right candidate has excellent communication skills and experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration

Responsibilities

• Works with the Director of Activities and residents to plan, coordinate and lead a wide scope of social and recreational activities with the intent of including all residents in some area of activity
• Plans off-campus trips for residents, and attends many of the trips
• Assists in arranging transportation to events and programs when necessary, including bus transportation and other vehicle transportation, scheduling community driver or outside resource
• Maintains the seasonal decorations of the facility.
• Creates, posts, and/or distributes information and material regarding events, programs, activities, etc.
• Assists with purchasing necessary supplies, films, crafts, etc.
• Assists with shopping for items requested by residents
• Conducts an orientation for new residents, serves as a resource person for residents
• Alerts Social Services staff of concerns pertaining to residents
• Plans and coordinates activities in absence of the Director of Activities
