The Northbridge Companies is seeking an Activity Assistant to support residents with engaging activities alongside the Engagement Director. You will help create experiences that nourish residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being, and you may drive the van to transport residents safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run a variety of activities with the Engagement Director.
• Connect with residents to tailor activities to their needs.
• Safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and events.
• Help plan trips outside the community and ensure safety and happiness.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment and encourage resident friendships.
• Keep records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share new ideas to keep programs engaging and relevant.

Looking for a person that can pick up occasional shifts in our Activities Department.

MUST be comfortable driving a 15 passenger van.

Activity Assistant Job Summary

As an Activity Assistant, you'll work with the Engagement Director to make our residents' lives more enjoyable with fun and engaging activities. Your role involves creating experiences that cater to their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making our community vibrant and lively. When needed, you will drive the van and ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of our residents

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Engagement Director to plan and run a variety of activities, like exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents personally, understanding what they like and need to make sure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
• Help plan trips outside the community, organize details, and make sure residents are safe and happy.
• Create a warm and inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
• Keep records of resident participation and feedback to help improve our programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep our programs exciting and in line with what seniors like.

Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate a passenger van safely and responsibly.
• Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Be creative and able to plan and lead activities that suit different interests and abilities.
• Organize things well and pay attention to details.
• Communicate effectively and be kind.
• Be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.
