Job summary

Vitality Living Overlook Community is seeking an Activity Assistant/Driver to enhance residents' daily lives through engaging activities and reliable transportation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and a focus on safety. CDL may be required for larger vehicles; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Full-time, on-site position with opportunities to connect with the community.

Qualifications

• CDL designation may be required for vehicles with more than 15 passengers.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles from community to social and other destinations according to assigned schedule.
• Practice safe driving techniques and follow state guidelines for motor vehicle operation.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trips.
• Document damages to company vehicles, including accidents and wear and tear.
• Clean interior and exterior of vehicle after outings; ensure adequate fuel levels.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and promotion of activities for residents.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles from community to social and other destinations according to assigned schedule
• Practice safe driving techniques, adhere to posted speed limits, and follow state guidelines for motor vehicle operation at all times
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip
• Document all damages to company vehicles, including accidents, dents, natural wear and tear, etc.
• Clean interior and exterior of vehicle after each outing and ensure adequate fuel levels
• Participate in the planning, implementation, and promotion of activities to enhance the quality of life for all residents
• Safely transport residents in community bus or another vehicle according to schedule
• Facilitate engagement programs that promote a vibrant lifestyle; model appropriate and successful engagement of residents
• Create engagement for residents based on their preferences, experiences, and lifelong interests as reported in the resident life journal
• Coordinate outings, special events, and partnerships with the greater community to enhance overall engagement experience for residents
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Engagement Director, or Memory Care Director

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be 21 years or older
• Valid driver's license with clean record that meets company insurance standards
• Commercial driver's license (CDL) designation may be required if driving vehicles with a capacity of more than 15 passengers
• Working knowledge of all motor vehicle safety precautions and comply with safety measures
• CPR/First Aid certification
