Job summary

The Northbridge Companies is seeking an Activity Assistant to work with the Engagement Director to make residents' lives more enjoyable through fun and engaging activities. You will help create experiences that support physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, contributing to a vibrant community.

The role includes driving a 15-passenger van and ensuring safe transportation for residents, with evening and weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some recreation/gerontology coursework is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate a 15-passenger van safely and responsibly.
• Love connecting with seniors and being able to plan/lead activities for diverse interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engagement Director in planning and running a variety of activities (exercises, art, trips, events, spiritual gatherings, music).
• Connect with residents to tailor activities to their preferences.
• Safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and events in a passenger van.
• Help plan trips outside the community and handle logistics to ensure resident safety and happiness.
• Create an inclusive environment where residents can make friends and explore new interests.
• Maintain records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share ideas to keep programs engaging and aligned with seniors' interests.

3pm-7pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with the possibility of picking up extra daytime shifts.

MUST be comfortable driving a 15 passenger van.

Activity Assistant Job Summary

Your role involves creating experiences that cater to their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making our community vibrant and lively. When needed, you will drive the van and ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of our residents

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Engagement Director to plan and run a variety of activities, like exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents personally, understanding what they like and need to make sure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
• Help plan trips outside the community, organize details, and make sure residents are safe and happy.
• Create a warm and inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
• Keep records of resident participation and feedback to help improve our programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep our programs exciting and in line with what seniors like.

Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate a passenger van safely and responsibly.
• Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Be creative and able to plan and lead activities that suit different interests and abilities.
• Organize things well and pay attention to details.
• Communicate effectively and be kind.
• Be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.
