Job summary

Activity Assistant role with The Northbridge Companies supports the Engagement Director in delivering engaging programs for residents. You’ll help create activities addressing physical, social, and emotional well-being, contributing to a vibrant community life.

You will connect with residents, plan diverse programs, and assist with outings while maintaining safety and inclusivity. Weekend availability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience or coursework in recreation, gerontology, or related areas preferred.
• Enjoy connecting with seniors and be patient.
• Creative and able to plan activities for varied interests.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Effective communication and kindness.
• Flexible for weekend/evening shifts.
• Basic computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run activities with the Engagement Director, including exercise programs, sessions, art, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents personally to tailor enjoyable, meaningful activities.
• Help plan trips outside the community and ensure safety and happiness.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents make friends and explore interests.
• Keep records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share ideas to keep programs exciting and aligned with seniors’ interests.

Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.
