Job summary

Acc Senior Services in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Activity Assistant to support care programs at the Care Center. The role involves helping implement activities, supporting care plans, and safely transporting residents for outings and joy rides.

The position is hourly, with a Sunday-Thursday schedule, and reports to the Life Enrichment Director. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are required, with driving and background checks part of the onboarding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; bi-lingual a plus!
• Basic computer navigation ability with Microsoft Word and email proficiency.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare facilities, geriatrics; OBRA/Title XXII preferred.
• Work Sunday-Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm; adaptable to schedule changes; may include holidays/evenings/weekends.
• Licensed driver with a clean driving record and ability to drive the company vehicle.
• Pass a criminal background check and pre-placement physical.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Director in planning, organizing, implementing activity programs.

• Participate in residents’ Care Plan; document residents’ specific needs; attendance.
• Set up and operate electronic equipment; maintain systems and perform preventative maintenance.

• Arrange Resident Outings and Joy Rides.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 Hourly

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Care Center Activity Assistant will assist with the implementation of activity programs, participate in care plans and safely transport residents to and from designations to include various outings and joy rides. This is an hourly position and reports to directly to the Life Enrichment Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Assists Activity Director in planning, organizing, implementing activity programs.
• Meets the residents' needs and interests, per resident abilities / physical limitations.
• Participates in residents’ Care Plan; documents residents’ specific needs; documents activities attendance.
• Sets up and operates various electronic equipment such as microphones, keyboards, TV monitors, projection systems, etc., in an appropriate manner; maintains systems & provides preventative maintenance as appropriate.
• Works with volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations of activities programs; pushes water cart and residents in wheelchair.
• Arranges Resident Outings and Joy Rides.
• Will walk 10-12K steps per day on average.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field and/or one-year combined experience in skilled nursing or related health care field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; bi-lingual a plus!
• Basic computer navigation ability is required to include proficiency with Microsoft, Word, email, website navigation.
• Medical terminology, health care facilities, knowledge of geriatrics and knowledge of state and federal regulations including Title XXII and OBRA preferred.
• Work schedule is Sunday-Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm with exceptions; must be adaptable to a changing schedule per department needs; must be able to work holidays, some evenings and weekends.
• Licensed driver with a clean driving record and the ability to drive company vehicle for outings.
• Must pass a criminal background check and a pre-placement physical exam.
