Job summary

The Arbors and The Ivy Assisted Living Communities is seeking an Activity Assistant to engage and encourage residents in daily activities, promoting warmth and safety. You’ll foster a welcoming environment and provide meaningful 1:1 interactions with those who prefer quieter engagement.

Openings for day/evenings/weekends. Must meet RMV requirements and be compassionate, team‑oriented, and able to adapt to changing plans while maintaining a cheerful presence.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with elders in care settings.
• Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented.
• Must meet Registry of Motor Vehicle requirements (RMV).

Responsibilities

• Engage, escort, and motivate residents to attend activities.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for participation.
• Provide meaningful 1:1 visits for quieter engagement.
• Support programs including arts, music, exercise, games, spiritual gatherings, lectures, and outings.
• Assist residents respectfully and with dignity during activities.
• Drive the community van for trips and excursions (RMV requirements).
• Observe engagement levels and communicate insights to the Activity Director.
• Support a culture of teamwork and collective ownership.

Requirements
