Job summary

Jobvite, Inc. is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our Engagement & Activity Team in Needham, MA. This part-time role (9am-5pm) includes every other Saturday and Sunday, working with the Engagement Director to create engaging activities for residents and support their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.

You will help plan trips, connect with residents, and contribute to a warm, inclusive community while maintaining records and proposing new ideas to keep programs vibrant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some recreation or gerontology coursework is a plus.
• Love connecting with seniors and building rapport.
• Creative with ability to plan and lead activities for diverse interests.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively and be kind.
• Flexible to work weekends and evenings.
• Basic computer skills for documenting activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run a variety of activities with the Engagement Director (exercise programs, sessions, arts, trips, events).
• Connect with residents to tailor activities to their interests and needs.
• Assist in planning trips outside the community and ensure safety and enjoyment.
• Foster a warm, inclusive environment enabling friend-making and new interests.
• Keep records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep programs engaging and aligned with resident preferences.

Activity Assistant Job Summary

As an Activity Assistant, you'll work with the Engagement Director to make our residents' lives more enjoyable with fun and engaging activities. Your role involves creating experiences that cater to their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making our community vibrant and lively.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Engagement Director to plan and run a variety of activities, like exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents personally, understanding what they like and need to make sure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
• Help plan trips outside the community, organize details, and make sure residents are safe and happy.
• Create a warm and inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
• Keep records of resident participation and feedback to help improve our programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep our programs exciting and in line with what seniors like.

Qualifications

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.
