Job summary

Forest Glen Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Forest Glen Health Campus, Ohio, is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and lead engaging recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in our skilled nursing and long-term care community.

You will support outings, foster meaningful connections with residents and families, and contribute to a warm, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with seniors/healthcare or recreation is a plus but not required.
• Friendly, patient, and dependable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, energetic, and compassionate.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid driver’s license preferred for outings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with organizing and conducting daily activities, including games, crafts, music, exercise, and events.
• Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one support as needed.
• Help decorate for holidays and themed events.
• Transport residents safely to and from activities.
• Document attendance and participation.
• Support community outings and special events.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
• Maintain activity supplies and keep activity areas organized.
