Job summary

Quiburi Mission Nursing & Rehabilitation invites an Activity/Recreation Assistant to support the Activity/Recreation Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing activity services for residents within the center.

You will help develop and deliver programs to promote engagement, maintain safety precautions, and encourage participation in arts, crafts, outings, and educational activities; prior experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with recreation coursework is desirable; state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities and related pursuits is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs to promote patient engagement and functioning.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourage participation in group and individual activities (arts/crafts, outings, religious, educational, etc.).
• Perform miscellaneous work assignments as required.

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
