Job summary

Recover-Care in Kansas is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing activities to address residents' needs and interests at the center.

The role requires weekend availability (Sat-Sun 10am-3:30pm); you will help develop engaging programs, monitor safety, and encourage participation across arts, outings, education, and worship activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with coursework in recreation is desirable.
• State approved activity-training course preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver activity programs to promote engagement and maintain functioning levels.
• Maintain precautions/limitations lists on each patient.
• Encourage participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, outings, religious activities, educational activities, and community service.
• Perform miscellaneous work as required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As an activity assistant you are responsible for supporting the efforts of the Activity Director in the assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center. Weekend (Sat-Sun) 10am-330pm

GENERAL DUTIES

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients' opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.
