Job summary

Peabody Retirement Community is seeking a Full-Time Activity Assistant to bring energy, creativity, and compassion to our residents. You will develop meaningful activities and events, while fostering socialization and one-on-one engagement to enhance residents' quality of life.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, dependable, and enjoy working with older adults. Experience with dementia is preferred, and there are opportunities for growth within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with older adults or individuals living with dementia is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, energetic, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to engage residents with different interests, abilities, and needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with individual and group activities.
• Spend one-on-one time with residents based on their interests and needs.
• Assist with planning creative activities and special events.
• Encourage resident participation and socialization.
• Escort residents to and from activities.
• Work with residents living with dementia and adapt activities to meet their abilities and interests.

What You’ll Do

As an Activity Assistant, you’ll help create engaging and meaningful experiences for our residents. Responsibilities include:

• Leading and assisting with individual and group activities
• Spending one-on-one time with residents based on their interests and needs
• Assisting with planning creative activities and special events
• Encouraging resident participation and socialization
• Escorting residents to and from activities
• Working with residents living with dementia and adapting activities to meet their abilities and interests
