Job summary

Aston Park Health Care Center, a part of Lutheran Services Carolinas, seeks a dedicated Activity Assistant in Asheville, NC. This full-time role focuses on planning engaging activities and fostering a warm, resident-centered environment.

You will lead group and individual activities, provide companionship, assist with daily living needs, and support events and transportation as needed. Strong communication and reliable teamwork are essential to brighten residents’ lives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with audio-visual equipment or vehicle equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead group and individual enrichment activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and needs.
• Provide encouragement, companionship, and support to residents during daily programs, special events, and outings, including transportation assistance when needed.
• Respect residents’ rights, privacy, preferences, and personal choices in all interactions and activities.
• Contribute to a warm, welcoming, and caring environment by modeling LSC’s values and high standards of service.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing education as assigned.
• Provide additional support in Nursing and Assisted Living areas, including one-on-one activities, mail distribution, and resident escort assistance.
• Support Adult Day Services by maintaining records, monitoring dietary names, assisting with meals, and helping with activities of daily living.

Activity Assistant Job Opportunity Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) is seeking a full-time Activity Assistant for Aston Park Health Care Center, a senior living community in Asheville, North Carolina. Position Details

Pay rate: $17 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday - Saturday 8:30am -4:30pm

Additional pay option: $2 more per hour if the teammate opts out of benefits
