Job summary

Aston Park Health Care Center, part of Lutheran Services Carolinas, in Asheville, NC, is seeking a full-time Activity Assistant to brighten residents' days with engaging programs and companionship.

You will help plan and lead activities, coordinate with staff, support daily living tasks, and accompany residents to events. The role offers a steady schedule Tuesday through Saturday, with benefits eligibility after 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with residents and team members.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with audio-visual equipment or vehicle equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading group and individual enrichment activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and needs.
• Provide encouragement, companionship, and support to residents during daily programs, special events, and outings, including transportation assistance when needed.
• Respect residents’ rights, privacy, preferences, and personal choices in all interactions and activities.
• Contribute to a warm, welcoming, and caring environment by modeling LSC’s values and high standards of service.
