Job summary

Redstone Presbyterian SeniorCare in North Huntingdon, PA is seeking an Activity Aide (Lifestyle Coordinator) for a full-time shift 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with one evening per week and alternating Saturdays. The role focuses on planning and executing engaging resident activities and events.

You will support residents with ADLs, coordinate with nursing staff, and help create a home-like, therapeutic environment while fostering a culture of respect and care.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working with older adults in a care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and conducts daily activities and events for residents.
• Plans holidays and special events, orders supplies, and sets up activity spaces.
• Encourages resident participation and escorts residents to activities.
• Provides ADL assistance during activities.
• Responds to resident needs and coordinates with nursing staff.

What will I do as an employee with Redstone?

• Checks email and other appropriate resources daily for updated activity schedule/resident information and designs special events signs, announcements, and weekly schedule of lifestyle activities and posts them on bulletin boards.
• Plans and prepares for activities of the day, holidays and special events, purchases/orders necessary supplies, sets up activity areas, and cleans up area following activity.
• Invites residents to scheduled activities, including bus trips out of the facility, and escorts interested residents, if necessary.
• Conducts the activities scheduled each day for resident groups, one to one activities for individual residents and spontaneous events in a manner that promotes culture change and a home-like atmosphere.
• Charts resident information as it pertains to activities using the approved documentation method.
• Communicates, as needed, with staff in other departments to coordinate their involvement in activities and trips.
• Arranges with outside vendors to entertain or conduct programs with residents.
• Provides ADL assistance to residents during activities and outings, including but not limited to toileting assistance, dining assistance and mobility/transfer assistance.
• Respond to call bells as needed while on the nursing units.
• Reports any changes in Residents condition to the Charge Nurse immediately.
