Job summary

The Pearl of St. Charles is seeking an Activity Aide to support our patients in a part-time role at our St. Charles, IL facility. You will assist in planning and delivering recreation programs, helping to maintain patient engagement and well-being.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; coursework in recreation is desirable, with prior experience in leading activities preferred. We offer competitive wages and a supportive team environment.

• Previous experience in leading recreational activities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity programs to promote engagement and functioning.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages participation in group and individual activities including arts, crafts, religious, intellectual, and recreational activities.
• Assists in completing activity documentation in line with regulatory requirements and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description:

The primary purpose of the Activity Aide is to supports the effort of the Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center. This is a Part-Time Position working various days during the week and some weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.

• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.

• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, recreational activities etc.

• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity training course is preferred but not required

• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.
