Job summary

The Pearl of Hinsdale is seeking an Activity Aide to support our patients by developing and delivering engaging activity and recreational programs. The role emphasizes promoting participation in arts/crafts, educational activities, and group events to enhance quality of life.

This full-time position requires collaboration with the care team, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining patient activity records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; recreation coursework desirable.
• State-approved activity training course preferred but not required.
• Experience in leading recreational activities and related programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs to promote patient engagement and functioning.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list for each patient.
• Encourage participation in group/individual activities including arts/crafts, religious, educational, and recreational activities.
• Assist in completing activity documentation in line with regulatory requirements and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description:

The primary purpose of the Activity Aide is to supports the effort of the Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center. This is a Full-Time Position working various days during the week and will work every Sunday.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, recreational activities etc.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity training course is preferred but not required
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.
