Overview

Job Summary:

Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Under supervision, develops and provides therapeutic activities appropriate to the physical and developmental age of the patient, with a primary focus on a safe environment.

Responsibilities

1. Completes comprehensive activity assessment and develops an indicated activity plan within an approved time frame for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
2. Provides a variety of age-specific therapeutic activities and recreational interventions for all age groups.
3. Conducts special events as assigned for different age groups.
4. Escorts patients to and from the unit safely.
5. Attends and participates in Treatment Team meetings, maintaining current documentation of patient progress toward goals.
6. Motivates patients to participate in scheduled activities within their physical and mental capabilities.
7. Maintains clear and concise documentation related to patient observations and interactions.
8. Adheres to policies and procedures, demonstrating practices that ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, co-workers, and self.
9. Accurately follows directions from the Educational Services Coordinator and licensed personnel.
10. Maintains CPR certification.
11. Obtains and maintains MOAB/CPI certification.
