Job summary

Memory Care of Contra Costa in Pleasant Hill, California is seeking an Activities Manager to lead and grow the activities program for residents across care levels. You will work with the Activities staff to design a diverse calendar that promotes resident individuality, participation and leadership.

The role emphasizes engagement, feedback from residents, and partnerships with community organizations to expand programming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services preferred.
• Experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults is preferred.
• Experience in managing staff and volunteers is desired.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record with no major violations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and oversee the activities program for residents.
• Create a diverse daily/monthly calendar for all care levels.
• Seek and incorporate resident feedback on activities.
• Establish community partnerships to offer a variety of programs.
• Provide opportunities for residents to engage in volunteer projects.
• Ensure activities supplies are ordered and available; transport residents to events.

Our senior living community is currently seeking an Activities Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, their families, and our community.

About the Opportunity

The Activity Supervisor plans, implements and oversees the Activities program for our residents. Works in conjunction with the Activities staff to create a multi-faceted daily/monthly calendar that is appropriate for all care levels and includes events that encourage resident individuality, participation and leadership.

Ensures that the activities program promotes a feeling of independence, a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment for residents.

• Provides a well-balanced daily and monthly calendar of programs and events of interest to the residents.
• Routinely seeks and is open to resident feedback on activity likes/dislikes and on suggestions for future programs.
• Establishes and maintains community partnerships to offer a wide variety of choices for residents and collaborates with other organizations/businesses to promote joint programming.
• Provides opportunities for residents to engage in volunteer projects in the surrounding community.
• Ensures that activities supplies are ordered and available for use.
• Transports residents to various activities and events in the community.

• Able to communicate intentions and directions to residents and staff and be an effective, empathetic listener.

High school diploma or GED. Prefer college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services and/or two (2) years of equivalent work experience in the field. Prior experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults preferred. Prior experience in managing staff and volunteers. Current CPR/first aid certification. Must have a valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record with no major violations.
