Job summary

Deercreekseniorliving is seeking an Activities Supervisor to plan and oversee resident activity programs. The role involves creating calendars, coordinating with staff, and promoting independence and fulfillment for residents.

You will develop varied programs, seek resident feedback, and build community partnerships to expand activity options for seniors. CPR/First Aid certification and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services or 2+ years related experience.
  • Experience with small group activities for older adults encouraged.
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements and oversees the Activities program for residents.
  • Creates daily and monthly calendars and coordinates with Activities staff.
  • Encourages resident participation and leadership through engaging activities.
  • Establishes community partnerships and offers joint programming.
  • Coordinates transportation to activities and ensures supplies are available.
  • Promotes independence and sense of fulfillment for residents.

Our senior living is currently seeking an Activities Supervisor to join our team of dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, their families, and our community. About the Opportunity

The Activity Supervisor plans, implements and oversees the Activities program for our residents. Works in conjunction with the Activities staff to create a multi-faceted daily/monthly calendar that is appropriate for all care levels and includes events that encourage resident individuality, participation and leadership.

Ensures that the activities program promotes a feeling of independence, a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment for residents.

Provides a well-balanced daily and monthly calendar of programs and events of interest to the residents. Routinely seeks and is open to resident feedback on activity likes/dislikes and on suggestions for future programs. Establishes and maintains community partnerships to offer a wide variety of choices for residents and collaborates with other organizations/businesses to promote joint programming. Provides opportunities for residents to engage in volunteer projects in the surrounding community. Ensures that activities supplies are ordered and available for use. Transports residents to various activities and events in the community.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prefer college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services and/or two (2) years of equivalent work experience in the field.
  • Prior experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing staff and volunteers.
  • Current CPR/first aid certification.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record with no major violations.
