Job summary

Canterbury Woods in Williamsville, NY is seeking an experienced Activities Assistant for a Regular Part Time (22 hours/week) role. You will work across Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care floors, coordinating resident programs, planning events, and promoting a lively, compassionate community.

The role requires energy, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to bring joy to residents, with weekday daytime hours and every-other-weekend availability to support a warm, engaging living

Qualifications

• Experience in organizing, planning, promoting and directing cultural arts activities.
• Experience working with a geriatric population is preferred.
• Must be high energy, with a positive attitude and a desire to bring joy to our residents.

Responsibilities

• Participates in community planning related to the interests of the residents and their needs.
• Coordinates transportation for trips/outings when necessary.
• Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the community.
• Participates in resident/group council meetings when/if requested and provides support service to such councils.
• Supervises programs as necessary.
• Encourages residents to participate in program.

Activities assistant position details:

We are hiring for a Regular Part Time (22 hours/week) position. The scheduled hours will be some weekdays 9am - 3pm, with availability to work Saturday & Sunday every other weekend 9am - 3pm. The candidate will be working on our Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care floors.

Activities assistant job duties include:

• Participates in community planning related to the interests of the residents and their needs.
• Coordinates transportation for trips/outings when necessary.
