Job summary

Canterbury Woods in Williamsville, NY is seeking an experienced Activities Assistant for a part-time role supporting residents across Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care floors. The position runs 22 hours/week with weekday 9am–3pm shifts and alternating weekends, designed to promote joyful, engaging programs.

Ideal candidates bring energy, a positive attitude and experience organizing cultural activities for seniors.

Qualifications

• Experience in organizing, planning, promoting and directing cultural arts activities.
• Experience working with a geriatric population.
• High energy with a positive attitude and a desire to bring joy to residents.

Responsibilities

• Participates in community planning related to the interests of the residents and their needs.
• Coordinates transportation for trips/outings when necessary.
• Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the community.
• Participates in resident/group council meetings when/if requested and provides support service to such councils.
• Supervises programs as necessary.
• Encourages residents to participate in program.

The scheduled hours will be some weekdays 9am - 3pm, with availability to work Saturday & Sunday every other weekend 9am - 3pm.
