Job summary

Sprenger Health Care in Ohio is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan, schedule and implement programs that meet residents’ needs and interests. You will staff the activities department, manage scheduling, budgeting and training new employees, and work as part of an interdisciplinary care team.

• Licensed or registered by the State where practicing is required.
• Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional is preferred.
• At least 2 years in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, at least 1 year full-time in a patient activities program in health care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and implement activities based on residents’ needs and interests.
• Staff the activities department, including scheduling, budget adherence, and hiring/training new employees.
• Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary care team and integrate the recreation plan into the resident plan of care.
• Maintain documentation reflecting services provided and resident progress toward goals.
• Develop and communicate facility programs with residents, staff, families and volunteers.
