Excelcare at Norwood is seeking a compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging recreational and life-enrichment programs for residents. You will design and oversee meaningful activities that promote social interaction, emotional well-being, and quality of life while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Located at 100 McClellan Street Norwood NJ, the role requires strong organizational and leadership skills and a passion for seniors’ well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certification as an Activity Director (Required).
• Previous experience working as an Activities Director or in a similar role in a long-term care or healthcare setting is Required.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and oversee engaging activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.
• Organize special events, outings, and celebrations based on resident interests and preferences.
• Assess resident needs and create individualized activity plans with nursing, therapy, and social services teams.
• Supervise, train, and support activity aides and volunteers to ensure safe and meaningful programming.
• Maintain activity calendars, participation records, and required documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
• Foster positive relationships with residents and families while managing activity supplies and budget.
