Job summary

Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care in Washington, IL is seeking an Activities Director to develop and oversee resident programs, manage staff and volunteers, and coordinate monthly calendars. The role includes leadership responsibilities and public relations activities within a memory care community.

The position is full-time with 30–40 hours per week, requiring a valid driver’s license and comfort with technology and office software.

Qualifications

  • Able to clearly present information through the spoken word and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Solid performance management skills including documenting and coaching performance.
  • Demonstrated independent judgment to meet company goals in a community setting.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and ability to drive company/personal vehicle.
  • Proficient with technology and standard office software including Word, email, and internet.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements resident programs to enhance activity and engagement.
  • Manages and supervises activity assistants, volunteers, and drivers where applicable.
  • Maintains monthly calendar and move-in actions for Activities using software.
  • Researches and updates events based on resident interests and budgets.
  • Publishes an engaging monthly program calendar by the 15th.
  • Leads community public relations and collaboration with PR teams.
  • Acts as manager-on-duty and oversees transportation scheduling for residents.
  • Recruits, trains, and manages volunteers.

Activities Director

30 to 40 Hours - Full Time Management Washington, IL, US

Salary Range: $18.50 To $21.50 Hourly

Overview Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care is a leading operator of assisted living, and memory care communities in 30locations in Illinois, Indiana and Florida. Responsibilities

Develops and implements programs of interest and meaning to our residents in order to enhance their lives and exceed their active aging lifestyle expectations. Manages and supervises activity assistants, volunteers, and drivers (where applicable).

  • Manages the monthly event calendar, and all move in actions related to Activities for all residents using software.
  • Researches, evaluates, approves, develops and modifies community events and programs, according to resident interests.
  • Prepares and publishes an engaging and creative monthly program calendar which incorporates the communities’ events and programs by the 15th of every month (ex. December calendar due Nov 15). Using software program.
  • Manages all aspects of the Activities program.
  • Engages and motivates residents resulting in program participation.
  • Contributes to community growth by participating in sales activities.
  • Engages in community public relations including collaboration with corporate public relations and preparation of local positive publicity stories.
  • Manages departmental needs and goals within department budgets.
  • Serves as the community’s “manager-on-duty” on a regular basis.
  • Determine and manage community resident transportation operation, including scheduling of outside events and similar operational decisions.
  • May drive company vehicle from community to social and other various destinations (only if required by community).
  • Recruits, approves, trains and manages volunteers where applicable.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Able to clearly present information through the spoken word. Can accurately communicate, providing the necessary level of detail even under stressful or demanding conditions. Ensures a positive attitude and team orientation is exhibited in verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Solid performance management skills, including the ability to communicate performance expectations, document performance conversations, coach and document performance issues and complete performance management expectations as guided by the company.
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions designed to achieve company expectations and goals for the community.
  • Able to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to effectively utilize technology including use of computers, iPad/Tablet use, Word programming, internet access, email, and social media.
  • Position requires driving responsibilities (may use Company provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle).
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Company motor vehicle policy standards.
