Job summary

Anson Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Director to guide and oversee the Activity Department, ensuring programs support residents’ well-being and engagement.

The ideal candidate holds state licensure as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional, or is an OT/OTA or has a state-approved training course, with prior healthcare activity program experience.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting
• Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional licensed by the state or eligible for certification as a recreation specialist/activities professional
• Qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or completed a state-approved training course

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Activity Department to support residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being as assessed.
• Ensures activities align with residents’ interests and comprehensive assessments.
• Maintains standards of care and compliance within the activities program.

The Activity Director plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Activity Department to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Applicant must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or as an activities professional; or Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting; or Must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or Must have completed a training course approved by the state.
