Job summary

Brickyard Healthcare in Indiana seeks an Activities Director to develop and coordinate recreation services that meet residents' needs and interests through comprehensive programs.

Responsibilities include resident assessments, care planning participation, monthly recreation calendars, volunteer program management, and cross‑team communication to support resident well‑being. Licensing and prior healthcare activity program experience are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed or registered as Activities Director, Social Worker, OT, or OTA in the state of practice.
• Minimum two years' experience in social or recreational program within the last five years.
• Minimum one year full-time experience in health care activities program.
• Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview and assess residents before the initial Care Plan Conference and develop an individual recreation plan.
• Update assessments and plans per state or federal regulations.
• Develop monthly recreation program calendars reflecting resident needs.
• Communicate facility programs to residents, staff, family and volunteers.
• Manage the facility Volunteer Program.
• Maintain documentation of services and progress toward goals.
• Coordinate Residents' Council development with social services.
• Make job assignments and set priorities.
• Serve on the QAA committee.

We rely on our Activities Director to ensure the development, organization, and coordination of the center and community resources to provide comprehensive Activity Services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.

Responsibilities:

• Interview and assess all residents prior to the initial Care Plan Conference; document this information in the medical record, develop an individual recreation plan based on the assessment and participate in Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings
• Update assessments and plans as needed and required by state or federal regulations
• Develop monthly recreation program calendars that reflect and meet the needs of facility residents
• Communicate facility programs to residents, staff, family and volunteers
• Manage facility Volunteer Program
• Maintain departmental documentation that reflects services provided and resident progress towards goals
• In coordination with social services facilitate the residents in the organization and continued development of a Resident's Council
• Make job assignments and set priorities
• Serve as member of QAA committee

Qualifications:

• As required by the state, currently licensed or registered in the state of practice as Activities Director, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA),
• Minimum two (2) years' experience in social or recreational program within the last five (5) years
• Minimum one (1) year full-time experience in health care activities program
• Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred
