Woodland Care and Rehab Center is seeking a dedicated Activities Director to lead monthly activity calendars, organize events, and enhance resident engagement in a supportive elder-care environment.

You will coordinate volunteers, work with families, and help plan marketing events while maintaining safety and documentation standards. A CNA license is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork required.

Competenze

• Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, with at least one year full-time in patient activities in healthcare.
• CNA license in Missouri preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents and families.
• Ability to react decisively in emergencies and maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.

Pay, Benefits and Perks of Activities Director:

• Competitive Pay Based on Experience

Essential Functions of Activities Director:

• Develop monthly calendar of activities; schedule, preplan and implement based on facility activity schedule and socialization of residents

• Photograph and submit activity results for special media pages

• Plan and organize “special” activities for residents, including assisting with Marketing events

• Cultivate relationships with referral sources in an effort to generate sponsorship and donations for planned activities

• Coordinate volunteers form a variety of organizations and local groups to work with residents on special interests

• Prepare special snacks with residents

• Set-up the dining room tables for activities

• Clean up after all activities

• Complete required logs, charting and reporting in a timely manner

• Keep all activity areas clean, safe, and free from clutter

• Assist residents to and from common areas as stated within their care plan

• Work closely with residents to generate participation, attendance at activities

• Assist other departments with residents as needed and required

• Perform concierge duties as directed

• Weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.

Qualifications & Skills of Activities Director:

• Two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five (5) year, one of which was full time in patient (resident) activities program in a healthcare setting

• CNA license for the state of Missouri is preferred.

• Related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness

• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team

• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization

• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff

Requirements of Activities Director:

• Ability to lead facilitated group activities, comfortable working with residents

• Must be reliable, outgoing and enjoy being with the elderly

• Basic computer knowledge for implementation of patient/client information, electronic record keeping

• Must have current state driver’s license with clean driving record

• Current CPR, CAPE certifications
