Job summary

The Lodge at Sandhills Carolina, operated by SanStone Health & Rehabilitation, seeks an Activities Director to lead the Activity Department and enhance resident well-being in Pinehurst, NC. The role requires licensure in therapeutic recreation or related credentials and prior experience in a health-care activities program.

Qualifications

• Qualified therapeutict recreation specialist or activities professional licensed by the state.
• Eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or activities professional.
• Two years’ experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years, including healthcare.
• Possible qualified OT or OTA or state-approved training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop and direct the Activity Department’s overall operation.
• Address residents' physical, mental and psychosocial well-being per assessments.

The Activity Director plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Activity Department to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
Applicant must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or as an activities professional; or Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting; or Must have a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or Must have completed a training course approved by this state.
