Job summary

Tutera Senior Living & Health Care in Knoxville, TN seeks an Activities Director to plan, organize, and implement a dynamic activities program aligned with residents’ social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs.

Lead the activities team, collaborate with care staff, and tailor offerings to each resident’s care plan. Requires passion for seniors, a flexible, energetic demeanor, and appropriate licensure or registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related field is required.
• Licensure or registration nationally or by the practicing state is required or preferred.
• Prior LTC/SNF/AL/MC activities experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement activities and leisure programs for residents.
• Ensure activities meet residents' social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs per care plans.
• Lead and coordinate with care staff to tailor programs to individual resident goals.

What Will You Do in This Role?

As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a program of activity and leisure pursuits designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with the comprehensive resident care plan.

Do You Have What It Takes?

• A fire and passion for working with seniors
• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
• Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area. Should be licensed or registered either nationally or by the State in which practicing.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, one of which must be full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
