Job summary

Integritus Healthcare in Greenfield, MA is seeking an Activities Director - Full-Time to plan, develop, and direct engaging resident activity programs. You will assess residents and design personalized activity care plans while ensuring regulatory compliance and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate degree; preferred.
  • Licensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRSs) or Activities Professional.
  • 2+ years of social/recreation experience within the last 5 years (including 1 year full-time in healthcare activities program).
  • Communication: Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Leadership and professionalism: Proven ability to supervise staff and work across teams.
  • Interpersonal skills: Patience, tact, cheerfulness, and enthusiasm when interacting with residents and families.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and direct a diverse schedule of engaging resident activity programs.
  • Complete resident assessments and design individualized activity care plans.
  • Maintain full compliance with state/federal regulations and participate in facility surveys.
  • Recruit, interview, schedule, and supervise activity department personnel.
  • Involve families and residents in program planning and collaborate with local community agencies.
  • Manage department documentation, handle budgets, and report directly to the Administrator.
  • Coordinate with nursing, social services, and discharge planning teams to support resident needs.
  • Arrange safe transportation for resident field trips and external facility transfers.
  • Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the consultant or administrator.
  • Education: Minimum of an Associate degree; preferred.

  • Credentials & Experience (Must meet at least one):
  • Licensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRSs) or Activities Professional.
  • Eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or activity professional.
  • 2+ years of social/recreation experience within the last 5 years (including 1 year full-time in a healthcare activities program).
  • Communication: Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Leadership & Professionalism: Proven ability to supervise staff, make independent decisions, and work harmoniously across teams.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional patience, tact, cheerfulness, and enthusiasm when interacting with residents, families, and state regulators.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new activity methods and adapt programming to fit each resident's cognitive and maturity levels.
Education

Associates or better.

Experience

Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional licensed by this state & eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or activities professional
