Job summary

Shanoan Springs Rehab Center in Chickasha, OK is seeking an Activities Director to develop and implement engaging activity programs that meet residents' needs and preferences.

You will lead planning, coordination with staff, and supervision of activities to promote person-centered care, autonomy, and meaningful daily life for residents in the facility.

Qualifications

• Experience in a recreational program in a health care facility.
• Licensed or registered by the State and certified or eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation or completed training course approved by the State.
• Ability to read and write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to relate positively with residents, families, volunteers and staff.
• Ability to organize, plan and work autonomously.
• Ability to teach, direct and supervise people and motivate residents into meaningful activities.
• Attributes of flexibility, patience and creativity.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations and facility policies.
• Ability to perform effectively under stress.
• Ability to direct, delegate and follow-up on programs and care of residents.
• Meet all health requirements imposed by law.
