Job summary

Majestic Care of South Bend seeks an Activities Assistant to support resident life through engaging programming and one-to-one interactions. You will help create a vibrant, caring environment, developing calendar activities and facilitating small and large group sessions.

The role emphasizes using diverse modalities (pet/music/art therapy) and coordination for events, with attention to residents’ comfort and social connectivity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Activity Assistant Certification preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to the resident population.
• Foster a sense of community within the community environment.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize a variety of models to achieve individualized programming such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc.
• Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.
• Develop and post monthly calendar as a planning resource for residents and families.
• Participate in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms.
• Promote volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.
